THE SHORT ANSWER
A member may encounter insurance included in the fee, an optional addition and a discount on the same benefits page. If everything is listed under insurance, it is difficult to understand what the person actually holds. Start by showing the distinction.
The group agreement and current statement need to be close to the explanation. Membership can connect someone to an agreement without answering every condition about time, person or compensation. This also applies when the organisation helps a member find the right documents. [1][2]
Keep these points in mind
- Included, selected and offered are different details.
- Union membership does not confirm a-kassa membership.
- The member's private documents are shared through a separate choice.
STEP BY STEP
How to review the documents
Organise information by how cover starts
Clearly state what the group agreement includes, what the member selects and pays for separately, and what is only an offer. Also check any opt-out enrolment: some group policies can start unless the person declines. The enrolment method needs to be clear.
The Swedish Consumer Agency distinguishes group insurance from offers and describes problems when marketing suggests insurance has already been ordered. Keep an offer separate from confirmation of an actual agreement. A product link alone does not show what the member holds.
[1][2]Show the right statement for the membership group
Identify the membership categories the information concerns, the document date and responsible insurer. Link to the full terms and show whom members can ask. A general group agreement and a personal insurance statement serve different purposes.
Also check how information changes when someone changes membership category or leaves the organisation. Continuing cover and any continuation insurance can have their own conditions and deadlines. Describe where to find those details without promising identical rules for every membership policy.
[1]Give a-kassa its own entry
Separate union membership, unemployment-fund membership and the income policy's payment conditions. Unionen explains that a union and an a-kassa are separate organisations and memberships. Insurance information from the union is therefore not itself proof of a-kassa membership.
Unionen's income insurance is a concrete example: Swedish a-kassa membership and the other policy conditions are required for payment. State your own agreement's conditions and current version. Do not present another union's amount, qualification period or age limit as a general rule.
[3][4]Keep personal data out of the general explanation
A description of membership benefits does not need individual members' insurance statements or health details. The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection identifies trade-union membership and health as sensitive personal data. The association's processing needs a clear purpose and support under data-protection rules.
A membership register does not itself give unlimited permission to pass information on. Separate general information, membership administration and an individual's sharing of insurance documents. Use appropriate channels and permissions for a personal case. Approval in Forsio does not replace the organisation's responsibility to assess legal basis and support for processing.

Membership insurance is one part of the person's picture
A member may also have private policies and cover through work. Similar names need not mean the same scope. Explain what the membership policy describes and let the person compare it with their own current statements. A benefits page does not show all their other agreements.
Whether several personal policies can pay depends on the terms and event. The organisation negotiating a group agreement does not establish that other policies can be cancelled. Keep individual agreement questions with whoever can assess them.
[6]Separate the member's overview from organisation access
In My Forsio, members can gather the membership and private policies present in their documents. Sources relate to the documents added. A benefit is not confirmed for a particular person simply because the organisation describes a group agreement.
Offering members their own overview does not give the organisation access to it. Any work with a person's shared documents is a separate flow with applicable consent and permissions. Neither organisation statistics nor unrestricted member access follows from this. A walkthrough clarifies which existing paths are relevant for your organisation.
[6]Fictional example
Three entries that do not mean the same thing.
A member organisation clarifies its benefits page. The example does not show any individual's holdings.
- Included in membership
- Current group agreement available
- Optional addition
- Personal statement needed
- A-kassa membership
- Unverified
The explanation helps members find the right question. It confirms neither a personal addition nor entitlement to compensation.
Common questions
Can one page show included policies and optional offers?
Yes, but enrolment and status need to be clear. Keep information about an offer separate from a personal statement of insurance. Also check whether the agreement uses opt-out enrolment. [1][2]
Does membership give the organisation access to private policies?
No. Membership and access to a person's insurance documents are separate questions. An individual's My Forsio overview does not automatically become readable by the organisation. [6]
